The Strata Chair is an experimentation in form and material. Each of its 3 laminated layers serves a distinct purpose within the overall structure. The placement of each material strategically accentuates the strengths of each type of plastic while minimizing the weaknesses. The top "point of contact" surface is formed from durable ABS, while the beautiful but more fragile acrylic lives on the back. The middle polycarbonate layer adds strength and flexibility to the seat. Emotion juxtaposes rationality with the organic seat and geometric leg forms.
